Puppy Love

Our new puppy, Sophie. This is right before 4 vet trips and 2 surgeries. Don't every get a dog without knowing if it has been wormed ... trust me.

I was GONNA blog more once I started days. In all fairness, the weather hasn't been above zero for several weeks, so I haven't really had a chance to take some pictures. (Ok, fine, it almost hit 30 one week. It is STILL too cold to go outside.) So I finally took a few pictures, and they are of our NEW PUPPY!!! 4 months after putting Maggie, our black lab, to sleep, we got a brand new 9 week old Chocolate lab puppy. Prepare for chewing, peeing, barking, whining and general destruction!
Actually, she's not so bad so far. Voluntarily goes in the kennel to sleep. Goes outside and only has minor issues with the leash. Training going pretty well. I think it helps that it is subzero. She (as well as I) don't like the cold.

And now, for Christmas decorations in my house. Prepare to be amazed...

Just for clarification, prepare to be amazed at how VERY LITTLE decorating I did this year.
Truly - a tree. And some stockings. And a string of lights.
Bah, humbug.

(Ok, in all fairness, I work two jobs, my husband works two jobs, and my daughter is 4. The amazing part is we remembered Christmas is coming soon.)

Since I have gotten so far behind on my Christmas a day post that I REALLY wanted to do, I thought I would make up for it by posting pictures of Christmas lights around town. This is one thing our family does every year that we really enjoy. Grab a cup of hot chocolate, drive around in circles for a while, and be inspired. Hopefully there will be a couple more posts like this,because now that I have figured out how to take pictures of lights, I'm gonna go CRAZY!!! LOL Also, this post is being entered into a few tour of homes blogs. Links at the end of the page. BEWARE!!! It is addicting because people go ALL OUT decorating. Be sure to visit the other sights, because not only do they have beautiful Christmas pictures, but most of these people actually went to the hard work of decorating their own homes, and posting pictures. Whereas I just wasted gas and possibly contributed to global warming. If you buy into that kind of thing.

Funniest part of this picture is, I bake, no one at home eats it. So I bring it to work and end up eating a bunch of cookies. They taste better there, or something.

Tookey's favorite color is red. She loves Christmas too. These ornaments make her a VERY happy preschooler.

I love taking pictures of reflective stuff. I thought you could see my reflection in there. Maybe on a better monitor. I love when someone else decorates for the holidays. Thanks to my family, who did this ALL without me!!

These were my favorite part of December growing up, and I was happy to find this chocolate filled advent Calendar at Walgreen's for only $1.99. Funny, I remember the chocolate being bigger.

Ok, my blog seems kind of boring with just pictures, especially when I don't get a chance to post one every day like I want. Exciting news though...we picked shifts for next year and I got ALL DAYS!!! I work 6 am to 2 pm, so I will be a normal, albeit weekend working, human. I will have time for things like working on letters and numbers with my preschooler, blogging, housecleaning, and taking LOTS of pictures!!!

No picture here, just anticipation. :)

This is the stained glass window at the front of my church. Took this waiting to pick up my daughter from preschool. They disapprove of the nose prints I leave on the window, staring in to watch her. :)

This is the spillway - a testimony to how much moisture we have. Normally fall is so dry, this would be a piece of concrete just waiting for spring. Not so much. I was a little afraid to drive across it. Don't worry, I had my window down.
